Unlocking LinkedIn's Power for Job Applications and Networking Success

Executive Jobseekers: A little bit of LinkedIn research goes a very long way and I've got the proof right here. 👇

Each time I write an executive résumé, I tweak it to a particular role for my client.

And when I write the new LinkedIn profile, I show my executive clients how to make a difference in their application for that role by seeking out that company's executives on LinkedIn.

👉 Here's the amazing part.

Most times, you don't even have to reach out, to get a profile view from those execs.

👉 How do I know this?

When I share the LI profiles with my client, for the company they're applying to, I naturally view that company's executive profiles - the CEO, CMO, CHRO, Executive Director, etc.

And 9 times out of 10, those executives view my profile right back. 👀

So, if you have a profile (most importantly, a headline and about section) that clearly define your value as an exec and what you bring to the table, just clicking on the profiles of the executives for the company you're applying to, can yield outreach.

Once they view your profile (or even if they don't), it's a simple matter to message them and say, "Hi [CEO name], I recently applied to the [CMO] role and followed you to learn more about [company or company initiative etc.]. I'd love to connect."

It's that simple, and trust me, it yields results.

✔ To recap: EVERY time you apply to a role, check out the leadership and execs for that company on LinkedIn. Make sure your profile is optimized for roles like the one you applied to, and don't be afraid to reach out with a kind and interested note, after you apply.
